Family Breakfast

We all met up at my parent's house for breakfast on Saturday to see Toni and Adam.  The morning was complete with foot rubs from Carson, laughs with Norah, and cuddles with Claire.

Like a Sack of Potatoes

The collective weight of our babies is currently five pounds, just like this sack of red potatoes I bought this week.  This number should at least double in the next two months.  Umm... yeah, yikes!

Also, after the third consecutive post related to my pregnancy or baby things today, I'm sure it's pretty obvious: I am obsessed with our babies. I just can't help it! I am hoping that this is normal.

Alpaca Sweaters

My brother and his wife bought these adorable sweaters for the babies. They found them at the same imports store in Sunriver where I bought these little shoes this past summer.  Kevin and Lauren sure know our taste. We just love them!

Oh the Joys

I had my three hour glucose test this morning.  That means I failed the standard one hour test, had to fast for ten hours, and then sit through three more hours with no food and four blood draws.  Do you know how hard it is for a pregnant woman (with twins) to go with out food for that long?  Granted most of the fasting was overnight, but I generally eat a snack or two during one of  my middle of the night trips to the bathroom.  And I always wake up famished in the morning.  But I made it through the test!
For a little treat Todd took me to eat some of the worst food on earth (although very tasty).  I figure if the test comes back positive for gestationall diabetes, this could be my last junk food splurge before they put me on a diet for the next two months.
And no, I'm not a regular fast-foodie.  We eat pretty well actually, even with being pregnant... I don't feel like I pig out all of the time or anything.  I do eat more often, but its usually good things. As I'm writing this I realise that I am still trying to convince myself that failing the first test wasn't my fault.  Which it wasn't.
Let's hope I passed today's test!

Dragon Fruit

I bought a dragon fruit this week.  I've never tried one and thought they looked cool, and I've heard they have tons of vitamins and antioxidants.  Todd was not happy because they were $2.58 each and he thought I probably wouldn't like it anyway (he is usually right).
A Mexican man at the store said they were "dulce".  Not true. I found it to be very bland... so I didn't end up eating it.  Instead I cut it up and put it in the freezer for smoothies. At least it's pretty to look at, right?

It's the New Year and I'm tired!

I sat here in front of my sewing machine for hours this past week and accomplished next to nothing besides getting a sore back. I did learn that sewing with knit/jersey is pretty much impossible, and that I am terrible at using bias tape. Next time I will have to get my mom's help (or just have her do it for me!)

The holidays are over and it's back to work today.  I honestly don't know how much longer I will be able to make it at work.  I discovered over my break that I do much better when I can lay back on the couch for quite a few hours each day.  Oh I hope I can work through at least some of March!

The year 2012 is just going to be so great for the McArthurs. I don't really care about new year festivities, and I never make resolutions (because I never keep them), but this year I have two:
1. have two babies
2. lose fifty pounds

You better believe I will be keeping my resolutions this year!
