Saturday Mornings

I love Saturdays.  It's our only day to sleep in a bit and enjoy a quiet morning together.  We usually drink coffee and eat pancakes or french toast while watching an episode of "House Hunters International" or "Anthony Bourdain" or something.  Today it was a seasonal, local favorite, "Garden Time".  Other usual morning happenings include reading Todd's devotional book, cleaning, menu and grocery list making, and laundry, before heading off for our weekly errands. Today we decided to stop off at Compass Coffee while out and about (Mike brewed us a free cup!).  Enjoy it while you can people always tell us.  They mean the peace and quiet.....and we do.

P.S.  These photos are from my iphone and I don't feel like they really turned out too good.  Oh well.

What a week.

It was a beautiful day yesterday around here, even if I was home sick.  The sunshine made it apparent that I really need to clean our windows (you can even tell from these pictures).  I think I like our kitchen window the best. Unfortunately I find myself looking out of it a lot because its right over the sink...and we don't have a dishwasher. I just love the way the ivy falls all around it. I guess I should be thankful that I have something pretty to look at while doing the dishes!

I looked through all of our old pictures the other day because I was missing Todd so much.  I found this one taken at Todd's old boat house. This was back when were newly dating, and Todd had just purchased his camera. I simply cannot wait to see Todd in just a few hours!

Happy 28 years Todd!

Todd gets to celebrate his birthday in Haiti!
I am dearly missing him. So is Brody who has barley eaten anything all week. Only four more days!

Hens and Eggs

I really love having chickens, although it hasn't been much fun mucking through the mud to feed them this week (I do appreciate all that Todd does...now more than ever).  We have two full cartons of eggs already in our refrigerator.  I guess I will have to bake something or eat omelets or eggs on toast for the rest of the week.

Last week the view out our back window was this:

Now it looks more like this:

Here's hoping the waters do not rise much more while Todd is gone.
