My Sister's Wedding Day

Toni was married last weekend in a beautiful ceremony in Boise, Idaho.  So that’s it, we are all happily married!  I think my parents are breathing a sigh of relief.
We had busy and wonderful weekend, spending good time with family and catching up with some friends for a little bit.  I am pretty proud of my little sister and I think all of her lovely ideas for the wedding came together perfectly.

Garlic

Todd's grandpa gave us cloves of garlic to plant last winter.  He said to put them in the ground and they would turn into full bulbs by summertime.  Well, its fall, and they have turned into bulbs....but look how tiny they are! I'm going to blame it on the lack of sun around our house and bad soil. Todd only dug a couple bulbs up. We are hoping that if we leave them in the ground for a bit longer they might grow to a normal size.  We really have no idea though.  Any tips?

A Cozy Sunday

It felt like fall this weekend, and I liked it. Friday and Saturday we were busy with a fundraiser rummage sale for Haiti....in the rain.  Sunday after church we did some work around the house and layed around. I took a nice nap on Todd's lap while he watched football.  And I finally made a real meal of beef stew for dinner (I have barely cooked at all in the past month).
I think I mostly want the cooler weather to come because all I feel like doing after work is cozying up on the couch anyway.  The weather is supposed to be warm again this week, but I'm counting the days until we can have our first fire of the season in the wood stove.  (It feels like just yesterday I was counting the days until summer!)

Wedding in Alaska

I went to Alaska this weekend to see my best friend Jessika get married.  I haven't seen her in about four years, and I honestly wasn't sure when or if I would get to see her again.  Plus I got to meet her sweet little girl Maylee for the first time! She married a wonderful man who is an excellent father. What a joy to see their two families become one. I just couldn't be happier for them.

(p.s. the flowers were beautiful, don't you think?)

McArthurs: Family of Four!

After eleven months, four doctors, many negative pregnancy tests, a lot of prayers and one month of fertility drugs, we are finally pregnant!  When we went in for our first ultrasound we found out that we have TWO healthy babies! Todd and I are of course ecstatic, and are extremely grateful for the chance to be parents together.  Come April (or maybe March) life in our little cottage will never be the same!
