Busyness and Happiness

It was a busy week. I started off with a bad attitude about it all, but it ended up being wonderful really.....

A birthday gift from my parents! My first project was a gift for Jack, my nephew to be. My mom taught me to sew and her mom taught her to sew.  Although I'm not good with tedious projects, I will do my best make my mom and Grandma proud.

Todd treated me to La Bottega...really good food and wine.  Afterwards we went to a lovely Holy Thursday service at St. James down the street (which apparently made Todd think of Hogwarts, and made me think of my grandparents).  We ended the night at Ice Cream Renaissance. I really needed a night like Thursday. It was perfect.

I took Friday off to catch up on other work, but I just had to slip in a little Carson & Norah time!  We dyed eggs with Grandma Janna and played outside in the glorious sunshine.
(By the way, Carson loves me. He told me so several times this week and I don't feel bad bragging about it because, well,  its the best thing in the whole world! )

I got to see my nephew Mason three times this week. Lucky me! Mason had lots of sweet smiles for me... I just love him to death.

Easter morning was the pinnacle of my week. I love our church and love what is happening there...I am not eloquent enough to try and elaborate.  Just believe me when I say that my heart is full.  God is very real and I am very thankful.

The Waiting Game

One of my favorite trees in our neighborhood.  As dead and terrible as this tree looks now, I promise you that in just a couple of short months it's going to be lush and green and pretty.  Just as long as we get some nice weather I guess. But will we ever get nice weather? It feels like we are doomed to rain and gloom for forever.  Patience has never come easy for me and it's being put to the test in my life in many ways right now.
The forecast is calling for a few consecutive days of sun and warmer-ish temperatures next week.  I am counting on it being true, for sanity's sake and for the sake of this tree.  When (or if) this tree comes back to life I will post another picture.

We Went To The Cabin

I am so thankful that my parents have their place in Zig Zag...for those times when we need a little get away.  Todd and I went up late Monday and stayed two nights (it's my spring break!). We read, played games, listened to Dad's records, walked to the old beaver damn, ate out, and made yummy breakfasts.  It snowed a little the day we left so we drove up the mountain to try and see more snow.  It quickly turned into a huge storm!  We had to turn around after just a bit.  I didn't get any pictures of the snow but it was very pretty.
It's 60 degrees and sunny here today (thank the Lord!!). You never know what you're going to get weather-wise this time of year in the northwest. I will take the sun right now for sure!
