I Made Laundry Soap!

Quite a few months back our friend Aaron said he found a recipe for homemade laundry soap that he loved.  I was really interested but completely forgot about it until this week when he mentioned he was making another batch.  So I found the recipe on his blog and tried making it for myself yesterday.  It was very easy to make. I haven't used it yet, so I'm hoping it will do okay with our laundry system at our quirky little cottage...specifically that it works well with cold water washes and that it's safe on the environment (I've found very mixed reviews on how environmentally friendly the ingredients are.)

If it does work, it's really going to save us a lot of money on laundry.  We spend about ten dollars a gallon on our fancy biodegradable laundry soap.  Aaron says that by his calculations this homemade soap is no more than two dollars for four gallons!  I sure hope we like it!

(I'm using a link for the first time. I hope it works.  Just for good measure, here is Aaron's blog post again if you want the recipe.)
